MixxHouse Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is MixxHouse?
MixxHouse is a remote audio production and engineering studio that provides professional-grade mixing, mastering, and sound design services for artists, producers, and content creators worldwide. Our workflow is designed for simplicity: upload your files, we handle the technical perfection. Clients receive clean, dynamic, and release-ready audio without needing to leave their home studio.

How MixxHouse Works

Q: How does the process work?

  1. Upload: Clients upload their stems or session files to our secure cloud uploader (Google Drive or MixxHouse Cloud).

  2. Review: Our engineers review your files for organization, naming, and technical readiness.

  3. Mix & Master: We process your song in Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or Ableton Live — depending on the project type — ensuring clarity, headroom, and balance.

  4. Approval: You’ll receive a reference version for review. One to two rounds of revisions are included with every service.

  5. Delivery: Once approved, the final mix/master (in WAV, MP3, and streaming-optimized formats) is delivered via download link

    Q: What’s the turnaround time?
    Turnaround depends on project complexity:

    • Single mix/master: 3–5 business days

    • EP or album: 7–14 business days

    • Custom sound design or podcast production: Typically 3–7 business days
Rush delivery (24–48 hours) is available at an additional cost.

  • UAD, FabFilter, Waves, iZotope Ozone, and SSL.

  • Outboard gear includes Universal Audio Apollo interfaces and Neumann/KRK monitoring setups.

Q: What file formats do you accept?
We accept WAV, AIFF, or session folders (.logicx, .ptx, .als). Please export stems in 24-bit, 44.1kHz or higher, with headroom of at least -6dB.

Royalties, Rights & Ownership

Q: Who owns the master recording?
Unless otherwise stated in writing, you retain 100% ownership of your master recording. MixxHouse functions as a work-for-hire studio. Once your invoice is paid in full, all deliverables are your property.

Q: Does MixxHouse take royalties or publishing?
By default, no royalties or publishing are taken for engineering, mixing, or mastering services. However, for co-production, beat licensing, or creative input that alters the composition, royalty participation may apply.

Revisions, Refunds, and Policies

Q: How many revisions do I get?
Every mix includes up to two free revision rounds. After that, additional changes are billed at the hourly engineering rate.

Q: Do you offer refunds?
Due to the creative and time-based nature of our work, refunds are not issued once mixing or mastering has begun. However, we will work with you until you’re satisfied with the final result.

Q: Can I get my project files back?
Yes. Upon request, you can receive the final session file for an additional archival fee. All sessions are stored for 30 days post-delivery unless extended storage is requested.
